Convention and Conduction are passing on heat energy (heat transfer), when they have heat the energy/particles are moving fast and faster
When an object is heated up, the particles in it start moving faster as they gain energy, These particles also try to spread out as the gaps between particles gets bigger
If an object is heated from one end, the particles can transfer heat along, this is CONDUCTION!
Objects which are bad at passing on heat are thermal insulators, an example of this is a blanket, and jackets, what they do is they create a layer trapping heat
Examples of a thermal conductor (can pass on heat) is a stoves and pans
Examples of convection (heated stuff rises, cold stuff sinks) is hot air balloon, soup in a pot
Experiment: when we light the teabag on fire they get hot and spread out and they are less dense, which means its light and that means its going up, then they get cold so the particles compact and they get more dense making the bag heavy and fall down
That is convection
