FAKE NEWS?!

 Kia Ora Everyone!!

WALT: (We are learning to ask questions that help judge the quality of media products)

For cybersmart this week, we did more media. This time we learned how to spot fake media, or fake news sites. Here are some ways you can know if it's fake or not!:

1: Look for fake URLs. If they end with .Lo or .com.co, they're probably fake.

2: Dissect the layout, look for grammatical errors and incorrect dates, bold claims with no sources and sensationalist images.

3: Dig deeper, find out who wrote the article, and who supports the site, if this information does not exist, or you need to register for the information, then question why.

Our task was to make a fake news report about something that would be fake or kind or click bait-y like say something with a picture and then the information is way more boring then you would think! Here is mine! I had a lot of fun making it and I hope you like it!

My Camp Ballad

 Kia Ora everyone!

Last week, we were learning about ballads. Ballads are a type of poem. The way Ms Wilton explained it, there are three stanzas and in each of those there was an AA, BB, A rhythm, so the first two rhyme, the second two have a different rhyme, and the last one has the same rhyming sound as the first two.

All our ballads were supposed to be about camp. I did three, but one is boring and one is inappropriate for my blog :D So this one will be about the orientating at camp!

Enjoy! <3

Ah, we’d found a spot, Zippy had been out staring

Soon the year seven girls came sneering

We were too loud, shut ups came from different voices

There were too many people, we had to rethink our choices

I could hear to the side, Tini swearing.

Alright, I’ve had enough, Sara shouted

For her, it was too crowded

She tried to move back, but there was a branch in the way

So she had to still, and just hope and pray

But with voices, she was still surrounded.

Soon lights shone through the distance

Our voices shut off and we tried to conceal our existence

It came closer and closer, our hearts started to beat

Oh no, it was Pete

Us girls were quiet, pretending we didn’t see, being resistant
