Fast Finish Task!

Because of finishing all my English work, I had to choose from a fast finish task to do while others were finishing. I chose the one that sounded the most fun which was making posters about the two main characters' profiles! Here they are!

Final SEXXY Paragraph!

 Kia Ora Everyone!

After learning about how to write paragraphs, and digging deeper into the film "Hunt For The Wilerpeople" our last task has been to make a detailed SEXXY paragraph about a certain topic from the film. Our instructions were to select our topics, then we had a planning slide to write down our ideas for the certain topics, lastly, we wrote our paragraphs following a template so that the paragraph can have the right format and for the very last thing, we highlighted the paragraph to the colours that matched each letter of SEXXY.

For the topics, there were three, and I chose the second one which was a relationship in the film. The relationship I chose to write about was between Ricky and food! So, I wrote my paragraph, and here it is! Enjoy! <3

Ricky Baker loves food, and it’s obvious he’s thinking about it 68% of the time. In the film, there are many instances where Ricky’s mind is flooded with food. First, when Ricky had just ran away, he was very lost and also, very hungry; suddenly when Ricky was starting to struggle, Hec came to save him, and Ricky responded by thinking Hector was a pavlova and Zig (the dog) was a burger. Secondly when Hec and Ricky first started walking around together, Ricky kept complaining about eating hungry, and in a day he had already eaten the whole bag of bread that he brought with him. He was also very tempted to turn himself over to the police when Paula offered him Scraggle (but he didn’t go for it). Taika Waititi adding this aspect of Ricky’s personality makes the whole movie more enjoyable and interesting, it makes the mood brighter and it gives the viewers a breath of relief through the dramatic movie.

I learned that Ricky Baker really loves food, nah just kidding but I learned a lot about making paragraphs and why we need to make it a SEXXY paragraph. It helped my writing a lot because it gave it structure and a reason to live. My favourite part of film study was watching the movie!

Chaos And Conflict (HFTWP)

Last week we had to make a SEXXXY Paragraph about a conflict in the movie Hunt for the Wilderpeople. I chose the conflict about Ricky and the Orphanage. Enjoyyyy

The main character Ricky Baker does not like the Child Protection Agency. Throughout the film, you can see multiple times that Ricky does not like the Child Protection Agency. The first time we see this is near the start of the film when the Agency is dropping off Ricky at Bella’s for the first time - he would not get out of the car/listen to Paula. Next, the reason why the manhunt started is because after Bella died, Ricky would have to leave that house because there is no mother figure to look after him, but as we know, he ran away because he didn’t want to. And then the rest of the times in the bush when Paula was trying to get Ricky to come back to them.

Through these three examples, we can see that Ricky does not like the CPA. Ricky’s behaviour and this conflict doesn’t remind of anyone/anything, but in other aspects it could, like, a child not wanting to go to school or something.

Here is a slideshow of information and conflict in the story.
