Milk Plastic? Will it Work!

For Topic this week, we are learning about "Changes in Matter". We had to identify the difference between Physical and Chemical change. After we went and learned about it there were experiments that we got to choose from that you can do with HOUSEHOLD items. I decided to do Milk Plastic Tags.
This is how mine went...
That is when I first put one cup of milk into the glass.

This is when I put it in the microwave for 2 minutes.

After adding the vinegar in and mixing a tiny bit.

After mixing for a minute.

This is after straining.

These is all the colours I wanted to make my plastic.

I added my mixture into the colours and mixed (I only used the yellow in the end.)

And Done!!!!! Now I have to wait 2 or more days for it to dry!

  1. Hi Lauren,
WOW, you've worked hard I really like the last photo when it's shaped and has a nice bright yellow color to it. This reminds me of a magician man called collins key and he made play doh with food coloring. Maybe next time instead of telling us how to make it you can link it from a website on how to make it but other then that is very good and keep great the work.

  4. Hi Lauren,

Well done completing this activity. I like that you included photos of each of the steps. Do you think this was a physical or chemical change?

    Keep up the great blogging.

  5. Hi Lauren.
Well done on this experiment and blog. I enjoyed watching you do this experiment and the outcome.
Maybe next time you could be a little more specific about your steps.
    Keep working hard.
