Kia Ora everyone!
Last week, we were learning about ballads. Ballads are a type of poem. The way Ms Wilton explained it, there are three stanzas and in each of those there was an AA, BB, A rhythm, so the first two rhyme, the second two have a different rhyme, and the last one has the same rhyming sound as the first two.
All our ballads were supposed to be about camp. I did three, but one is boring and one is inappropriate for my blog :D So this one will be about the orientating at camp!
Enjoy! <3
Ah, we’d found a spot, Zippy had been out staring
Soon the year seven girls came sneering
We were too loud, shut ups came from different voices
There were too many people, we had to rethink our choices
I could hear to the side, Tini swearing.
Alright, I’ve had enough, Sara shouted
For her, it was too crowded
She tried to move back, but there was a branch in the way
So she had to still, and just hope and pray
But with voices, she was still surrounded.
Soon lights shone through the distance
Our voices shut off and we tried to conceal our existence
It came closer and closer, our hearts started to beat
Oh no, it was Pete
Us girls were quiet, pretending we didn’t see, being resistant
