The Pleiades - The Flint Boys!

Kia Ora Everyone!

This week, because it's Matariki, we are looking at the Pleiades. The Pleiades are a set of stars the most countries can see. For us, we call the Pleiades Matariki, but in other cultures they call it different. I chose to do the flint boys, it is what the Black God Navajo called them.

This is the backstory of the Myth, Hope you enjoy! :)

Key Idea #4! Comic Strip

Kia Ora Everyone!

Today, we are doing a comic strip on Jesus' life after his baptism. We had three videos to take notes from.

We also had resources we were allowed to make the comic strips on, so I chose to do a canva comic strip!

Matariiki

Because Matariki is coming up, we obviously had to do a DLO about what we had learnt with the resources our teacher had given us. We had four resources and picked information out of all of them for our DLO's. I learnt a lot, stuff that I had forgotten like what Matariki means (Tiny Eyeballs) and I learnt new things, like the meanings of the stars.

The C.E.R.R. Café!

Kia Ora Everyone!

This week, in Room 6, our class has invented a C.E.R.R. Café! Ms. Wilton thought of inventing the C.E.R.R. Café because it would give students a nice time to relax or eat something if they're hungry. But, most things aren't free...
We implemented a system with "C.E.R.R. Tokens". The red one is for Compassion, The yellow one is for Excellence, the blue one is for Responsibility and the green one is for Respect. We are given these if Ms. Wilton see's us showing one of these values.
So that is how we pay for things.
The year 8's have also gotten jobs to do at the Café! But not all of them. I have been assigned to a Cook. There is another Cook that works with me but he does nothing usually. Just kidding. There is a also a cashier and a cleaner. We have a cute little fake till and everything!

In my opinion, I think the Café is a really good idea and is really cute because, it is a fun way to make the class happy, it makes me happy when I serve people at the desk because their faces light up! I love "working" in the C.E.R.R. Café!
