My LED Sign

 Ideas:

Acrylic colour i want to use: Clear
Picture and words
Outside shape: rounded square

How we made it: First we printed the actual sign and then we got to making the circuit. We souldered a bunch of wires together and then the circuit was made! Then we havd to test the LEDS and see if they were the right way around. Then we made the box with more clear or blue acrylic.

Project

Kia Ora!

Throughout three weeks, we had a project in science and math, to do with circuits, voltage, resistance, current

Aim: What is the aim of this project? our aim was to calculate voltage and current, and find the area in the floor plan we chose

Method: What template did you pick and how many bulbs? What rooms did you give your house? Add a picture here. I have 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, a lounge, a kitchen and a garage. I chose house plan a, the amount of bulbs i put was 7, and they are spreadout in my house

Results: Show your calculations for Area and Voltage + Current (Ohm’s Law), link to images/screenshots if you can. I have three pathways for circuits, and my total area is 174ms

The voltage of pathway one is 200V with one lightbulb

Pathway two, each of my lightbulbs is 66.67V, because I have three lightbulbs

Pathway three is the same as pathway two

Discussion: What do the terms voltage, current, resistance mean? How did you do the calculations? What do your calculations tell you about circuits and houses? Do the calculations make sense?

Voltage is the amount of energy given by the “source” or battery.

Current is the rate of flow by electrons.

Resistance is about pushing back, if you change the resistance on your light bulb the more resistance the slower the electrons.

The way I found the voltage was by doing this:

The way I found the current and resistance

Do your calculations make sense? No, I don't really understand them and the way to work out the answers

Conclusion: Did you enjoy the project? Would you do anything differently if you were to do it again? Different house or Number of bulbs? Yes, I thought it was interesting but difficult, and I would do something differently, use house plan C :D

Social media madness

Rewrite:

Social media madness

  1. Tired!!! Physical therapy in the morning, I’m done for the day. As soon as Madison is home from girl scouts, I’m hoping I can sleep!

  2. Me and my boo at the movies, too cute.

  3. You look so happy! Great pic.

  4. You should have called me if you needed something.

  5. I’m single and I’m gonna love it. Fred and I are getting divorced. He put a restraining order on me, he needs help.

  6. Thank you, everyone. I’ll be okay.

  1. Working hard trying to stack that paper, money status all day baby. I’m a young entrepreneur trying to make me some dollars.

  2. Yea, sometimes I think I should get up earlier… then I roll over in my bed and think “Yea, better not.”

  3. New phone, inbox for the number.

  4. I can’t do this anymore, I can’t take it!

  5. Seems to stupid to be real… skeptical.

  6. Oh my gosh! Ryan just pooped and peed on the potty.

How does resistance affect current?

Voltage definition (V): How much energy the electrons are carrying, measured in volts

Voltage rule: In a series the voltage is split between components, In a parallel the voltage is the same everywhere else

Current definition (I): How quickly the electrons move (flow), measured in amps

Current rule: In series current is the same everywhere, In parallel current is split between pathways

Resistance definition (R): Used to slow/resist flow of electrons, measured in ohms

Resistance slows down the current by slowing the electons (electricity being carried around the circuit)

With resistence:

Without resistence (the lightbulbs shine more because there is no resistence stopping the electrical current):

Electricity

 Parallel:

Series:

What is the difference and series circuit: In all series circuits all electrons pass through one path, in a parallel circuit the electrons split ways and go down to the different branches

What is voltage and current: Voltage comes from the battery, it changes the speed of the electrons travelling, current is like the flow of the electrons

Explain why a string of christmas tree lights would be parallel not series? Because the electrons need to split to different branches

my team worked very well and it tasted delice, the meat was good like perfect, and the other things were yummy

Static Electricity

Questions: Static Electricity
1: What are the three particles that make up everything? Which ones have positive and negative charge?
1 answer: Electrons: negative, Protons: positive, Neutrons: nonw

2: Objects want to be electricity neautral, what does this mean
2 answer: They want to be balanced/have the same amount of negative and positive electricity

3: When you rub an two insulators you get a static shock, so what is an insulator and a conducter?
3 answer: It passes electrons onto you, it has built up electrons

4: what is an example of static electricity?
4 answer: tramponline, car door

Langosta - Do Now

Task: What a Langosta could be used for on a Cay, how would you use it to survive

Langosta:

food is the first obvious way

hydration, in the video the guy drunk from the claw things

Cay - Do Now

Task: write a paragraph explaining why it would be difficult to live on a Cay

Why it would be difficult to live on a cay:

It wouldn't be recourseful at all, with their not being many food sources or water sources, one of the only things that would be easy to be obtained and eaten is seafood

Volleyball (PE)

What were my skills like before we started the unit?

I had never played volleyball before so I had no knowledge on anything to do

What are your skills like now?

I have improved a lot, considering I hadn't played before

What specific skills can you now use in a game?

Serving and receiving, I like them the best and have improved on them the most

What is the hardest thing about playing volleyball?

Receiving the ball can actually sometimes be difficult, as a netball player my instinct is to catch it but with volleyball you can't catch/hold the ball

What did you like most about volleyball?

Improving my skills and being able to see a difference from where I started to where I am now

Types of Energy

Intro: What are we learning about?

Types of Energy , Energy Transformations

8 types of energy:

Heat: produced by movement of particles quickly (the sun)

Kinetic: allows anything to move (a car)

Sound: vibrating particles cause sound (bell sounds from microwave)

Light: from x-rays to visible light (when and x-ray uses light for your bones)

Electric: found in everything that uses electricity (light bulb)

Elastic potential: found in stretched things (a rubber band being flung)

Chemical potential: found in fuels or foods (any food)

Gravitational: found in objects high off the ground (dropping your phone)

Energy can not be created or destroyed, it just moves from one type to another: Transformation

 Example of energy transformation

Pontoon Bridge

Pontoon Bridge

Intro: Pontoon bridges are ones that are easily taken down and put back together to cross rivers in the wars, the soldiers needed them because swimming through lots of rivers would tire them

Why are these bridges created?

They were used very frequently to cross rivers in the civil war

How are they built?

They're connected with planks and ropes

How are they reusable?

Because they would take the bridges down and use it in another river

Schooner

What does the schooner look like?

A schooner is a sailing boat with big white sails on it, It has fore-and-aft sails on it,, it has an overall length of 131 feet and a waterline length of at least 30,, a typical prairie schooner weighed about 1,300 pounds when empty

If I was standing on the deck of a Schooner, I would see the water, and it was be close because the deck is very low down, I also think that the noise that it would make while it cut through the water would be calming, as it looks like a calming sailing boat,,
